G&W activities focus on the characterization, properties and quality of cement, aggregates, concrete admixtures and soil. It also deals with the appropriate building technology and the brick manufacturing from local materials and solid wastes. Special interest is given to building materials of monuments such as stones, mortars, marble, color and wood. Geological survey and quarrying are carried out for restoration projects and industrial purposes.

G&W offers urban and architectural studies for the conservation of cultural heritage, in addition to the computer aided documentation of historical buildings.

G&W organizes specialized scientific and industrial workshops, conferences and training courses in cooperation with local and international corporations.
